For his current tour, Drake 2018: Aubrey and the Three Migos, Grammy-award winning singer Drake and his team employed drones to perform alongside the singer on stage. The drones used were Lucie microdrones developed by Verity Studios, which specializes in indoor drone performances.
In another guest appearance, the Lucie micro drones create a glittering wave in the song Look Alive before forming a red 3D cross that rotates around Drake.
As per Verity Studios’ website, Elevate, a song on Drake’s new album Scorpion, opens with the micro drones swarming onto the stage to surround Drake in a cloud of lights to the roar of the audience. With mainstream artists like Drake and Metallica making use of drones in their live performances, the performance drone industry is set to get a big boost.
